Cyanika / Kyanika

The border post is located in the Kisoro District, in the country’s southwestern region. It is about 10.5 km southeast of Kisoro town. On the Rwandan side, it is situated in the Burera District, in the Northern Province.
The Cyanika border crossing between Rwanda and Uganda is open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM Uganda time and 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM Rwanda time. This means it is not a 24-hour border crossing, unlike the Katuna/Gatuna border post, and travelers should plan their trips accordingly.
Mirama Hills / Kagitumba
The Mirama Hills / Kagitumba border is a one-stop border post that links Uganda and Rwanda. Located near the point where the borders of Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania meet, it is one of the busiest crossing points between Uganda and Rwanda.
Mirama Hills is on the Ugandan side, in Ntungamo District, while Kagitumba is on the Rwandan side. The border post operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This schedule was implemented in 2018 to facilitate cross-border trade and passenger movement.
How to cross the border from Uganda to Rwanda?
To cross from Uganda to Rwanda, you will need a passport, a visa (or an East Africa Tourist Visa), and a yellow fever vaccination card. The two main border crossings are Cyanika and Katuna. Be prepared for a potentially slow process, have all your documents ready, and carry USD for any visa fees if not paid online.
Have all the documentation for the car which includes the Log book, COMESA, a signed letter from your car rental company authorization you to cross the border with there car and the identification card if the car is registered to a person and not company.
